Arlo Guthrie will tour the East Coast from Washington, D.C. to Massachusetts and back down to Carnegie Hall this November on the Guthrie Family Legacy Tour. Arlo is celebrating four generations of family music, with “Woody,” Abe Guthrie, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion.

The spirit of the Guthrie Family has been handed down from generation to generation. “It's in the songs, the humor, the commitment to keep making the world a little better for everyone,” says Arlo Guthrie. This November, Arlo tours the East Coast on The Guthrie Family Legacy Tour along with his son Abe, husband-wife duo Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, and other “surprise guest” family members.

There are millions of people who know the name Woody Guthrie and are familiar with his songs like “This Land Is Your Land,” and “Oklahoma Hills.” On the menu are these favorites, some of Arlo’s newest songs, plus originals by Sarah Lee and Johnny. And they have set some of Woody's unrecorded lyrics to music. Arlo wrote a haunting melody for his father’s song “My Peace.”

“The set list is under construction, but that's typical, Arlo said. "That's the other part of the Guthrie family legacy — a predictable irregularity. When you listen to those songs going through time and generations, it puts them in a different perspective. When a fourth generation is still singing about something important, but with their individual style, there's something magical there." - Anchorage Daily News

“'There’s a lot of sides to that sword, it’s not just double-sided' Sarah Lee said of being a Guthrie. 'In our legacy the purpose is really just taking a look at the world and singing what you see - writing what you see. I feel pretty strongly that music can change the world and I want to be a part of that.'” - Rolla Daily News

“’After a few years touring with Arlo and playing Woody’s songs I think a lot of my writing now is inspired by the way that the family writes songs and even more, live their lives.’ says Johnny Irion (Arlo's son-in-law)” - Boston Globe

“I have three or four major traditions that I am carrying around inside me,” Mr. Guthrie said, ”and they are all just different views of the same reality” - New York Times
