October 27, 2006Seagull Guitars & James BluntPress release
Canadian guitar manufacturer Godin Guitars, parent company to the renowned Seagull acoustic guitars, built James his very own Seagull 6 and 12 string acoustic models, in two “beautiful” high-gloss burst finishes. Played by James on a nightly basis, these finely crafted, all solid wood acoustics were specifically built for the singer, which he received while rehearsing for the tour. A longtime fan of the Seagull brand, James recounts the Seagull S6 as being the first acoustic guitar he actually went out and bought himself in his early days prior as a songwriter. Previously serving four years in the British Army, his Seagull guitar was in fact “the” personal item Capt. James Blunt chose to bring with him, while in the war torn region of Kosovo. It was during this time that many of the ideas for the hugely successful Back to Bedlam album were composed. Seagull ads featuring James Blunt will be appearing in various guitar and music publications in the upcoming months. The Seagull Ad features a quote by James showing a hint of the singer’s British, dry wit: “Beautifully crafted & beautifully sounding guitars…may I have another one please?” About Godin Guitars For more information about the Seagull line of guitars, please visit www.seagullguitars.com.
