J.J. Cale and Eric Clapton Duet Album

The 14-track CD, The Road to Escondido (Reprise), featuring duets by Cale and Clapton and special guest appearances by Taj Mahal, John Mayer, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II, Albert Lee, Nathan East, Willie Weeks and Steve Jordan, is due on shelves November 7, 2006. 11 of the tracks were written by J.J. Cale, who also penned Clapton cover hits "After Midnight" and "Cocaine". Clapton wrote one track, "Three Little Girls", and "Hard to Thrill" is from John Mayer. "Sporting Life Blues" is a Cale/Clapton cover of the classic blues number. For fans who can't wait, a behind-the-scenes video is available from Warner/Reprise.
