PRS Guitars and Bare Naked Ladies at Chevy Rock & Roll 400

Press release
Source: PRS Guitars

Paul Reed Smith Guitars proudly accepted a smattering of champagne in Victory Lane during the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 winner’s trophy presentation at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday. The trophy, custom built by PRS Guitars, included a fully functional PRS guitar that was painted yellow with indigo flames to match the pace car. After passing Kyle Bush with only two laps to go, race winner Kevin Harvick rocked his Richard Childress Racing No. 29 Bare Naked Ladies Chevrolet across the finish line and into Victory Lane to accept the guitar-laden trophy.

PRS endorsers, the Bare Naked Ladies presented Kevin Harvick with a Corvette Z06 model PRS, signed by the band members, during a pre-race press conference, and Harvick returned the gesture by presenting the band with a replica of the hood of his race car. Harvick’s hood was custom-painted by Chevy for the race and included an image of the Bare Naked Ladies. The guitarist from the Bare Naked Ladies played his PRS guitar during the pre-race performance while the Paul Reed Smith Band performed in the Chevy Fan Fest area on Friday and Saturday.

Later, Harvick and his wife DeLana took turns strumming the PRS guitar as it stood secure on the trophy pedestal, still covered in champagne. “PRS Guitars created the perfect trophy for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 and everyone on the No. 29 Bare Naked Ladies team is proud to be able to bring it back to Richard Childress Racing,” said team owner Richard Childress. “The folks at PRS captured exactly what Chevrolet has built over the years with the rock & roll theme of its sponsorship. Kevin took the trophy home with him so we’re going to have a replica made to display in the RCR Museum at our race facility in Welcome, N.C.”

The President of PRS, Jack Higginbotham, stated, “PRS is proud to have a part in the Chevy Racing program, from our sponsorship of the Corvette Racing team to our participation at the Chevy R&R 400. Having the Richard Childress #29 BNL car win the trophy is icing on the cake. Thanks to Kevin Harvick and the team for reinforcing our belief that cars and guitars go together.”
