This past Sunday, August 27, 2006 , a grueling and demanding athletic event took place in Penticton, British Columbia. This yearly event is the Subaru Ironman Canada Triathlon, in which devoted athletes from around the world push themselves to their utmost physical and mental limits to cross the finish line. One such athlete was Godin Guitars’ very own, Katherine Calder-Becker.

By day Kat is Godin Guitars resident Art Director and Graphic Designer but in her spare time she is a rigorous and devoted athlete, who (along with husband Kevin Becker), trained and competed to prepare herself for this true test of courage, physical endurance and mental toughness. The Ironman Canada Triathlon consists of 3 stages of exhaustive athletic ability which starts with a 2.4 mile swim, immediately followed by a 112 mile bike race and culminating with the arduous 26.2 mile marathon run, where agonizing pain can easily overcome the athlete.

This huge accomplishment was made official when she crossed the line after 12 hrs & 35 minutes, placing 869th out of 2178 finishers.

Congratulations Kat!! You are an IRONMAN!!
