Ill Niño, Godhead and Ra Unite for Fall "Congress of Corruption" Tour

Press release
Source: Randex Communications

Confirming its dedication to the concept of true artist development, Cement Shoes Records, the new rock label distributed by FONTANA/Universal, is sending its first three signings – Ill Niño, Godhead and RA – on the road this fall on the “Congress of Corruption” U.S. tour.

All three acts will have their debut Cement Shoes CDs in stores while “Congress” is in session. The label’s first release comes from Godhead, debuting nationwide on Aug. 29 with The Shadow Line. Ill Niño and RA will follow with their highly anticipated releases on Oct. 24.

The five-week tour kicks off Sept. 21 in Baltimore, MD, and continues through Oct. 30 in Atlanta, GA. The tour is designed to give fans coast to coast the opportunity to see these bands the way they’ve always deserved to be experienced live – with big production value at an extremely affordable $10 ticket. What better way to introduce a great new label and just some of the tremendous talent on its expanding roster?

“We are excited about the launch of the label and couldn’t have thought of better bands to do this with,” says Cement Shoes Records president Dan Catullo. ”All 3 bands have proven themselves to be solid rock acts with amazing songs and live shows. It is our intention with this tour to kick people’s asses in each city and give them an insane Metal/Rock show that will blow the doors off most arena shows. Cheap ticket price, with an incredible production. It is time that people pay attention to Ill Nino, Godhead and RA. The rock revolution is coming and our bands will be riding the wave at the forefront.”

Ill Niño, the world re-known bi-lingual Latino Metal sextet, arrives at Cement Shoes with a new five-song EP comprised of three of their favorite cover songs from bands they loved growing up as fans, and two brand new songs – all overseen by legendary producer Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne), Dave Chavarri and Eddie Wohl (Anthrax, 36 Crazyfists, Machine Head). The EP is just a taste of what’s to come from Ill Niño, as their highly anticipated fourth full-length studio album, due for a Spring 2007 delivery, is destined to be the band’s most influential release to date. The “Congress of Corruption” tour will be Ill Niño’s first U.S. outing since their recent signing to Cement Shoes Records. “Our new label not only understands the needs of their artists,” says Ill Niño drummer Dave Chavarri, “but act aggressively to fulfill those needs.”

Godhead’s hammering industrial-rock identity, forged over the past decade, is embraced without compromise on The Shadow Line, the band’s fifth overall release and most melodically potent of a heralded career that has included several successful movie soundtrack favorites. Godhead’s newly unrestrained sound is succinctly exemplified on the anthemic first single, “Trapped in Your Lies,” impacting at active rock radio now. The politically charged video is part of an extensive bonus DVD included with the CD.

RA’s upcoming third album, Raw, is a live recording of a performance earlier this year at the Machine Shop in Flint, MI, and mixed by the aforementioned Andy Johns. Aside from including the band’s strongest live material, Raw offers a new studio track, “Don’t Turn Away,” sure to become a radio favorite. Like the Egyptian sun god Ra which gives the band its name, music is a source of life for singer/producer Sahaj, a way to express his primal fears and desires, the fruits of a spiritual journey that began in India.

Special guest opening act on the “Congress of Corruption” tour is popular Los Angeles act The Dreaming, fronted by Chris Hall, former lead singer of Stabbing Westward.

Cement Shoes Records, formed in 2006 by industry veterans Daniel E. Catullo III (President/Founder of Music DVD company Coming Home Studios), Peter Koepke (former President/Partner of legendary London Records), and Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins, seeks to re-establish true artist relationships and development neglected in recent years by major labels. An independent label distributed by FONTANA/Universal, Cement Shoes Records believes the artist comes first and needs to be properly developed through relentless touring and focused marketing efforts to “The Street,” where the true music fans are.
