Spotlight: Mossman Golden Era Acoustic

Back in the 1970s, guitar builder Stuart Mossman was appalled that some companies resorted to having guitars built off-shore with laminated or plywood construction. He, and several craftsmen like him, were hell bent on adhering to the highest quality standards in guitar construction.

The Mossman Guitar Company had many fine guitars in its line up, including the Tennessee Flat Top; the Flint Hills, the Great Plains and the top of the line model, the Golden Era. The Golden era could be purchased with an exquisite abalone inlay on the neck and headstock at retail.

Our spotlight guitar is a 1975 Mossman Golden Era with the beautiful Maurer vine inlay on the fretboard. The GE features a German spruce top, Brazilian sides and back, abalone around the top, a three-piece back with abalone inlay strips, and gold Grover tuners.
