Vaeda Continues U.S. Tour in Support of Upcoming Album

Press release

The New York City trio known as VAEDA has announced another set of U.S. tour dates to get fans ready for their debut album, STATE OF NATURE, which is due out August 22 on Playtyme Records, distributed by ADA, starting with a CD release party in Washington, DC at The Red & The Black that same day. Also that day as well as the rest of the week, America Online will be hosting a Listening Party, streaming the album in its entirety.

STATE OF NATURE shines on two fronts: first as a collection of individually dynamic songs, and second as a gripping collective of songs, each playing a part in shaping a multi-faceted listening experience. “All For You” is purely pop, featuring melodic choruses and pining music that could seamlessly co-exist on the landscape of modern rock radio. But VAEDA aren’t your little brother’s radio-friendly band. Drawing from an amalgam of influences that range from Nirvana and Tool to Living Colour and Pennywise, each plays a part in the evolution of the band’s sound.

A video for “All For You” can currently be found on the band’s website, www.vaeda.com, Myspace page, www.myspace.com/vaeda, as well as YouTube.

In an early review, Richard Flores of Fussmagazine.com praised:

“VAEDA has (sic) captured their music and turned it into a form of art. The introductory song ‘Money’ is an excellent upbeat tune with soaring melodies to lure the listener into the album. ‘All For You’ and ‘Battle Song’ both have a radio-friendly rock feel to them, with hard-edged guitar, complex composition aspects, and expressive lyrical hooks to keep you ready for the next tune. The tracks ‘Jesus Rides the Subway,’ ‘Cacophony,’ and ‘1.25’ show the more mellow side of VAEDA, revealing strong feelings and distinct musical emotions. All of STATE OF NATURE is very solid throughout, an album easy to listen to completely through uninterrupted. Making their first major entrance onto the music scene, they are undeniably cementing themselves into a position for future endeavors.”

Check out VAEDA--Ian Cole (guitar/vocals), Aristotle Dreher (bass), Oliver Williams (drums)—at any of the following tour stops, with more dates to be added in the coming weeks:
