Roy Orbison ES-335 Reissue

In commemoration of the exhibit, Haunting and Yearning: The Life and Music of Roy Orbison, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, which will run through the end of 2006, Gibson Guitar's Custom Division has created the Roy Orbison ES-335 Reissue, one of which the Hall of Fame presented to Barbara Orbison. According to Gibson Europe, "The Roy Orbison Gibson ES 335 guitar is the latest offering from Gibson Custom Divisions “Inspired By” line of signature instruments. This guitar is an accurate reproduction of the black ES 335 which Roy used during the Traveling Wilburys period. Additionally, the guitar has Roy’s signature engraved on the truss rod cover and a mock up of the proposed Roy Orbison postage stamp affixed to the back of the headstock. Production of this guitar is limited to 70 pieces honoring Roy’s 70th birthday."
