Godin Art Guitars Auctioned at the Montreal Jazz Festival

Every summer thousands of musicians and 2 million music lovers the world over gather in the beautiful city of Montreal to experience 11 days at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. A bonus at this year event is the good will and artistic flair added to the festival, thanks to the collaboration between Jazz Fest organisers, MMMIS and Montreal based Godin Guitars.

This partnership joins together the innovative guitar concepts of Robert Godin and the artistic vision of the festival's renowned poster designer, Yves Archambault, to create 9 exclusive guitars, which have been meticulously redrawn and painted by hand… truly making them stunning and unique works of art.

From July 6-9, 2006, the Montreal Musician & Musical Instrument Show (MMMIS) will be exhibiting these guitars in its exposition halls where a silent auction will be held. All proceeds from the sale of these exclusive instruments will go towards the funding of the free activities featured at the MMMIS, which, like the Montreal International Jazz Festival is a non-profit organization. Further proceeds go towards the Young Musicians of the World organization, the MMMIS Music to Youth Fund, which promotes music making among young people and to the organizing of such events as this year's free Blues Camp for teens held during the festival.
