June 29, 2006Gibson Guitar to Jam at Summerfest 2006Press release Gibson Guitar, the world's premiere musical instrument manufacturer announced sponsorship of the 39th Annual Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI. Summerfest, which takes place June 29th – July 9th, 2006 is the world’s largest music festival filling a 23,000 seat amphitheater and ten ground stages with national headliner acts for eleven straight days. Situated on 75-acres along the shores of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee, world-class live music, unique attractions, and over 45 food & beverage vendors combine to make Summerfest the premier event of the summer. Gibson Guitar will sponsor the Emerging Artists Series which will be host to acts: New Sense, Bascom Hill, Treaty of Paris, Annie Minogue, the Hush Sound, Cameron McGill, the Starrs, My Little Radio, Dearborn, Ism, Action Action, Jupiter Sunrise, Quietdrive, David Levin, and many more. The series will take place each day from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the US Cellular Connection Stage with Leinekugel’s and 102.1 WLUM. Gibson Guitar will also give guests the chance to experience the Gibson Tour Bus which will travel in and around the festival for the duration. Spectators can also take photos in front of the giant Gibson Les Paul Guitar situated at the entrance of the festival which has become a permanent landmark. In addition to the stage sponsorship, Gibson will provide music fans with the ultimate guitar experience. A “state-of-the-art” Gibson Custom trailer will be on-site during the festival. The trailer will have six interactive guitar stations with a selection of Gibson Custom guitars, each providing the guitar lover with their own opportunity to jam and play like their favorite rock star. Gibson is known worldwide for producing classic models in every major style of fretted instrument, including acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins and banjos. Gibson’s digital guitar represents the biggest advance in electric guitar design in more than 70 years.
