Gibson Guitar Sponsors Cartier International Polo Tournament

London, England, June 21, 2006. Music giant Gibson Guitar is once again a proud sponsor at this year's prestigious Cartier International Polo Tournament. Gibson Guitar is the main sponsor of the New Zealand polo team who take on England for the coveted Coronation Cup. This annual event, now in its 22nd year, is the highlight of the polo and social calendar. Gibson Guitar also sponsored both winning visiting teams (Chile and Australia) for the last two Cartier International events.

All the action takes place on the world famous Smiths Lawn at the Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great Park on Sunday 30th July 2006. HM The Queen will once again be in attendance to watch the game and present the winning team with the Coronation Cup. The Coronation Cup was first played for in 1911 and this will be New Zealand’s fourth appearance at this prestigious event.

In addition to the sponsorship, Gibson Guitar will be exhibiting a wide range of new and classic guitars in the Gibson Guitar tent which will be situated in the exclusive shopping village area. Over 25,000 people will flock to Guards polo Club on the last Sunday in July to watch the finest display of Polo and glamour on and off the field. The event is attended by senior members of The Royal Family, society figures, international celebrities and polo enthusiasts. Polo is one of the fastest growing sports and is known as the “Sport of Kings”.
