PRS Guitars Sponsors NASA Racing Event at Summit Point Raceway

On July 8, 2006, PRS will be a sponsor of the 2006 Hyperfest Event at Summit Point Raceway, where auto enthusiasts can spectate or participate in track events. Located approximately 1 hr. from metro Baltimore/DC, Summit Point Raceway will be transformed into an “amusement park” of automotive and import/compact car lifestyle activities. Experience thrilling track action by signing up to take your car on track with an instructor for high speed driving events or experience high speed thrill rides with a professional driver. There will also be plenty of action to watch with NASA road racing, US Drift National Competition and a spectacular collection of show cars as well as various suppliers and vendors.

PRS Guitars has teamed up with WHFS of Baltimore to promote Hyperfest. There will be a pre-event Drift demonstration on June 30 at “Lot B” of Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD. PRS will be on hand with U.S Drift for a glimpse into the “Fast and Furious” sport of drifting. Thrill seekers will be able to strap into a drift car with a professional driver for the ride of a lifetime. The Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center will once again be on site to raise awareness for their programs. The demo will start at 6:00 pm and conclude at 9:00. WHFS will be on site broadcasting live.

On July 8, the main event at Summit Point will get underway at 8:00 am. Racing, driving events and vendor displays will be ongoing throughout the day. On track competition culminates with the US Drift Nationals followed by a concert by the Baltimore Reggae band “Colouring Lesson”. Admission is $20.00.

PRS Guitars will have an interactive guitar display at the event and raffle tickets for a PRS guitar will be sold throughout the day with proceeds benefiting cancer patients and their families at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. The lucky winner will be presented with the guitar during the evening concert.
