June 13, 2006New Sammy Hagar Album Available July 25, 2006Press release Sammy Hagar sings about what he knows best on his fifteenth studio album – parties, beaches, and love. It’s safe to say the hedonistic mix Hagar and his band The Wabos conjure is working. The album’s first two singles—“Let Me Take You There” and “Sam I Am”—both spent more than two months at #1 on Classic Rock radio. Rhino Records lifts its glass to the hard rock icon and tequila mogul who put the Wabo in Cabo with the release of Livin' It Up. The album will be available July 25 at all retail and digital outlets as well as www.rhino.com and www.redrocker.com for a suggested retail price of $18.98. Livin' It Up contains 11 new studio tracks featuring Hagar and The Wabos—drummer David Lauser, guitarist Vic Johnson, and bassist Mona. The album mixes eclectic styles that range from the hard-driving hits “Sam I Am” and “Mexico,” to the roots rocker “The Way We Live,” and the country-rock ballad “Halfway.” Livin' It Up also spotlights two covers—a boozy take on Bob Dylan’s “Rainy Day Women” and country superstar Toby Keith’s hit “I Love This Bar.” Hagar’s obsession with life where the land ends and the party begins bubbles to the top on several tracks, including “Sailing” and “Livin’ On A Coastline,” a bouncy ode to the easy life bolstered by tight backing harmonies. Founder of Cabo Wabo—a premium tequila and a cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico—Hagar sounds at home behind the bar mixing up a love potion on “One Sip,” a track he cowrote with contemporary-country hitmaker Kenny Chesney. This summer Hagar and The Wabos bring a little taste of Cabo to amphitheatres across America as they tour to support Livin' It Up. Each show will feature the Cabo Wabo Village complete with bikini girls, body builders, beach volleyball, mariachi bands, Cabo street food vendors, and, of course, a killer bar. The shows will include Hagar playing his solo hits with the Wabos followed by a set of Van Halen songs performed by The Other Half, a group featuring Hagar and VH bassist, Michael Anthony. Quintessential hard rock lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter, Hagar first rose to fame with the band Montrose before embarking on his solo career. For almost a decade Hagar enjoyed major solo success with a string of albums featuring classic hits such as “Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy,” “There’s Only One Way To Rock,” and “I Can’t Drive 55.” Hagar then joined Van Halen, and his years as their flamboyant frontman took him to a new level of superstardom, including the GrammyÒ-winning album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Livin' It Up Track Listing The following 2006 tour dates are confirmed, with more to be announced soon. JUNE JULY AUGUST
