RedOctane® is pleased to announce that PC World has honored their videogame Guitar Hero™ with a 2006 World Class Award - one of The Best Products of the Year. PC World, the most widely-read computer or business magazine, ranked the hit rock 'n' roll videogame #19 on the list of "The 100 Best Products of 2006", evaluating each product over the last 12 months based on exemplary design and usability, features, performance, innovation and specifications.

"Products that win PC World's World Class Awards set the standard for excellence in the IT and consumer electronics industries," stated Harry McCracken, editor in chief of PC World.

By comparison, the only other videogame product that appeared on the list was the XBOX 360, which came in at #89.

"RedOctane is honored to receive the prestigious World Class Award from PC World, having seen the high caliber of this year's product list," said Kelly Sumner, CEO of RedOctane. "We are truly proud of the many accolades that have come from consumers and the industry alike and we would like to thank all of those who were involved in making Guitar Hero a great success."

The PC World World Class Awards honor products that meld practical features with innovation and reflect the rapidly changing technology marketplace. This award is added to the many commendations that Guitar Hero has received since its launch last November. This list includes five D.I.C.E. industry awards and an average review score on Game Rankings.com - a site that collates all press comment and reaction - as 92 percent.

The game that has inspired a nation of wannabe rock stars to achieve videogame greatness is scheduled for a new US tour with "Guitar Hero II" on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system in November 2006.
