All-Star Lineup on CD Inspired by Steely Dan

More than a tribute, this all-star lineup re-imagines ten Steely Dan classics as jazz-rock fusion instrumental jams on The Royal Dan, with a street date of May 9, 2006. The Royal Dan was produced by Jeff Richman, who organized previous fusion all-star salutes to John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and The Mahavishnu Orchestra for Tone Center.

The core group consists of Ernie Watts, saxophones; Jeff Richman, guitars; Peter Wolf, keyboards; Jimmy Haslip, bass; and Vinnie Colaiuta, drums. Without a doubt, Richman morphed these cats into a fantastic band.
