April 26, 2006Upcoming Release by Jerry Lee Lewis to Feature Guest Appearances by Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Jimmy Page, Bruce Springsteen, Buddy Guy, Neil Young, and OthersPress release Legendary Rock 'n' Roll icon Jerry Lee Lewis is set to perform his classic hit, "Great Balls of Fire," on The Late Show with David Letterman this Friday, April 28th. Joining Lewis, who will be accompanied by Paul Shaffer and members of the Late Show Band, will be guitarist Jimmy Rip, who produced Lewis' forthcoming CD, Redemption, along with Steve Bing for Shangri-La Entertainment, as well as guitarist Kenny Lovelace who has been a member of Lewis' band for a remarkable 39 years. Lewis' much anticipated CD will be released by Columbia Records in September. Lewis' powerful performance is accented by the many guest stars who lend their talents including (in alphabetical order): Delaney Bramlett, Eric Clapton, John Foggerty, Buddy Guy, Merle Haggard, Don Henley, Mick Jagger, George Jones, Toby Keith, Kid Rock, BB King, Kris Kristofferson, Little Richard, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Robbie Robertson, Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Star, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Neil Young. Jerry Lee's individual style mixes equal parts of blues and country together with a unique blend of R&B, gospel, and of course, good old Jerry Lee Lewis rock 'n' roll. He has become the last man standing of the Million Dollar Quartet (Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins) but his singing and playing is as fresh as ever. His time has come - again. What makes the album so extraordinary is the same thing that immediately made legendary Sun Records founder Sam Phillips sit up and take notice when 21-year-old Jerry Lee Lewis first arrived at the door nearly 50 years ago: Lewis then as now, simply demands to be heard.
