April 14, 2006Gary Burton and Julian Lage Play BirdlandVibraphonist Gary Burton is well known for the musicians he's worked with (such as Hank Garland and George Shearing) and the guitarists he's featured in his group, including Larry Coryell, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Pat Metheny. The latest guitar prodigy to appear with Burton is 18-year-old Julian Lage who came to Burton's attention when Lage was 12. Burton's quintet (Burton, Lage, Luques Curtis on bass, James Williams on drums, and Vadim Neselovskyi on piano), Generations, will appear at New York City's Birdland club on April 14-15, 2006. Story.
