PRS Guitars Exhibits at the Dallas International Guitar Festival for the First Time in More Than Ten Years

Press release

Paul Reed Smith Guitars returns to one of the world's largest and oldest guitar shows for the first time in more than ten years as an exhibitor and sponsor of this year's 29th Annual Dallas International Guitar Festival, April 21-23. Rare opportunities for the public to view exclusive pieces from PRS' archived collection and many special performances, clinics and demonstrations suggest a very strong presence for PRS at this year's show. An extensive collection of twenty-five archived PRS guitars will be on display at the PRS booth in Market Hall, including all six editions of the PRS Dragon model as well as many first-run PRS guitar prototypes and pre-factory PRS guitars. The show will be the very first time this unique assemblage of archived PRS guitars will be on display for the general public. Several dealer-owned PRS guitars will also be on display and for sale in the PRS booth at the show.

PRS Guitars' Managing Partner Paul Reed Smith will personally give clinics on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 1:00 PM, and Joe Knaggs, PRS Guitars' Research & Development Director, will be onsite all three days demonstrating stylized wood carving techniques. Additionally, Paul Reed Smith's band, The PRS Band, is scheduled to perform Saturday, at 2:00 PM on the show's outside stage. Paul Reed Smith endorser and monthly Musicians Hotline columnist Johnny Hiland will also perform with his own band on the same stage later that day at 5:00 PM.

"It is so great to see PRS back at the Dallas Guitar Show. It is really exciting for the show, the industry and passionate guitar players from all over the world. PRS has always been a leader in the celebration of the guitar; this is evidenced by the quality of the instruments they continue to build," says Musicians Hotline Publisher Trent Salter. Musicians Hotline is the presenting sponsor for Dallas International Guitar Festival this year and will feature an interview with Paul Reed Smith discussing The PRS Band in the show's Official Program Guide.

"PRS is very proud to sponsor and exhibit at this year's show. We're so glad to be back and are really looking forward to sharing part of the archived collection for the first time with the public. Introductions like these are always a pleasure for us, and the reactions are usually testament to our success," says Larry Urie, National Sales & Marketing Director for PRS Guitars.

Collectors, musicians and fans attending the show can buy, sell, trade or just browse the massive assortment of music-related products. 15,000 people attended the Dallas International Guitar Festival last year and more than three million dollars worth of instruments and memorabilia including thousands of new and vintage guitars, basses, amps, banjos, mandolins, straps and strings, effects pedals, keyboards and other music memorabilia were exchanged.
