April 7, 2006Giant Stratocaster Helps Set World RecordThe 82-foot-tall Fender Stratocaster (also known as the Neon Guitar) structure on top of the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas, Nevada (U.S.), was the setting for skateboarder Danny Way's new world record skateboard freefall of 28 feet, as verified by the Guiness Book of World Records. The record-setting event, called the Bomb Drop, took place on April 6, 2006. Way dropped 28 feet from the guitar onto a special ramp built by John Tyson and VP industries.
