PRS Guitars at the Races

Press release
Source: PRS Guitars

Paul Reed Smith Guitars joined forces with Chevrolet at this year's 48th Annual Daytona 500. NASCAR's premier event that drew an estimated 200,000 spectators to Daytona International Speedway where Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and others took their place on the track. Over 32 million viewers tuned in to watch the race on February 19.

The 2006 Daytona 500 marks the second consecutive year that Corvette has been chosen as the official Daytona pace car. A custom painted Z06 Corvette led the pack, driven by Tonight Show host and auto enthusiast, Jay Leno. PRS Guitars painted a Corvette Standard guitar in DuPont Hot Hues finishes to match the pace car. The guitar was autographed by Leno at the track and displayed in the Chevy Fanfest area during the event.

PRS will also brought the Jeff Gordon guitar which was unveiled at SEMA last fall. This unique guitar matches the Chip Foose designed "Heat Waves and Flames" Hot Hues race car that Jeff will be driving in 2006. The guitar, autographed by Jeff Gordon, Chip Foose and Carlos Santana will be auctioned in 2006 with the proceeds benefiting the Jeff Gordon Foundation. Many of the colors used on both the pace car and the custom guitar are currently used by PRS as part of their Hot Hues line of PRS CE Bolt-on guitars.

PRS Guitars is also pleased to continue its partnership with General Motors and Corvette Racing. As a sponsor of the factory Corvette Racing team, the PRS logo will continue to be displayed on the LeMans winning racecar during the season while the PRS Corvette Standard guitar continues production for a second year.
