Fender (FMI Wholesale) and gig-fx Enter Distribution Deal

Press release
Source: gig-fx

In an agreement struck in December of last year and solidified at Winter NAMM, the newly formed FMI Wholesale, a division of Fender Musical Instruments, will distribute gig-fx products in North America and from Fender's five regional sales centers in Europe starting in March.

"This arrangement is exciting for both of us," said Susan Ivins, Director of Marketing of gig-fx, "given that both companies are setting out on a new path. We think the association with Fender will help gig-fx get a jump start in the market. We also think that radically new products like the CHOPPER and MEGAWAH will help establish FMI Wholesale as a pace-setting distributor with innovative, high-quality products."

gig-fx's first ground-breaking product, the CHOPPER is already available for general sale throughout North America and Europe and the new MEGAWAH pedal will be in stores in March. Fender will lead off with these products through their soon-to-be-released wholesale catalog, which will be distributed to retailers throughout the US, and sold through their sales force in both the US and Europe.

The CHOPPER is a radically new modulator pedal that provides advanced stereo versions of some classic effects as well as unique sounds, never before available in a single pedal, ranging from ambience to trance to funky to pounding metal. The MEGAWAH features a new big wah sound not available in a pedal format before, together with classic wah, auto-wah and envelope effects. The MEGAWAH can also be used as a foot-volume control.
