Renowned guitar maker Paul Reed Smith has been honored by "Safety and Health Magazine", a publication for the National Safety Council as a 2006 "CEO Who Gets It!". Each year the National Safety Council features select corporate leaders whose management philosophies demonstrate a commitment to the safety and health of their employees. Paul Smith is in the esteemed company of six other dedicated leaders including, Chad Holliday, Chairman of the Board and CEO for DuPont, and Robert Lane, Chairman and CEO for Deere & Co.

"People work their whole lives at Paul Reed Smith. If they get hurt, it is not OK on many levels. I want to be able to stand in front of my employees and have done everything we, as a company, can do to make sure they are safe," Paul Smith said.

PRS Guitars is also committed to providing continuous off-the-job safety education at no cost to employees and offers benefits such as reimbursement for gym membership fees, free CPR certification and an Employee Assistance Program that offers a host of wellness and confidential counseling services.

"Whether it's a reminder to change the batteries in your smoke detector or how to make your child's Halloween costume more visible," Paul Smith said, "we try to make information available to all our employees. We care about the safety of our employees and their families."

The National Safety Council (NSC) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental, international public service organization dedicated to protecting life and promoting health.
