January 27, 2006GRAMMY Nominees Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay to Perform during GRAMMY TelecastPress release Twelve-time GRAMMY(r) winner and current five-time nominee Bruce Springsteen will perform on the 48th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Feb. 8, as will four-time GRAMMY winner and current three-time GRAMMY nominee Coldplay, as superstar announcements continue to rock the GRAMMY Awards. Best New Artist nominee SugarLand will appear for a special performance, and Hezekiah Walker & Love Fellowship Choir will sing to the rafters with previously announced performer - and current eight-time GRAMMY nominee - Mariah Carey. The music industry's premier event will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at www.grammy.yahoo.com. Springsteen currently is up for five GRAMMY Awards, including Song Of The Year, Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Long Form Music Video ("Devils & Dust"); and Best Contemporary Folk Album (Devils & Dust). Coldplay currently is nominated for three GRAMMYs, including Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("Speed Of Sound"), and Best Rock Album (X&Y). Previously announced performers include Kanye West and John Legend - who both have eight nominations; U2 and Mary J. Blige; Faith Hill and Keith Urban; Jamie Foxx with Kanye West; and Christina Aguilera and Herbie Hancock. Previously announced presenters include Big & Rich, Tom Hanks and Terrence Howard. John Cossette and Ken Ehrlich are executive producers, Walter C. Miller is producer/director, Tisha Fein is the coordinating producer, and Tzvi Small is executive in charge of production.
