St. Blues Guitars Re-launches at the Winter NAMM Show 2006

After 20 years of continued interest from St. Blues collectors and fans worldwide, Legendary Gear is bringing back the St. Blues line of guitars and basses.

The comprehensive product line of high quality yet moderately priced gear makes the St. Blues guitars appealing to all levels of players. The line includes three body styles, the single cutaway Bluesmaster, the unique Bluescaster and the double cutaway Bluesking. The Bluesking line includes a 4 and 5 string bass. Each model comes in transblack quilt-top, Honey burst quilt-top, black, cherry, blonde and the retro looking dark honey burst. Each model also comes in the standard configuration and the upper end Workshop Series line with higher end components for professional players.

Every guitar features Legendary Gear's own Lovelaw pickups and electronic systems. Lovelaw pickups were designed to capture a vintage sound by deconstructing and analyzing the pickup windings from early guitars. Push/pull tapping and splitting capabilities offer a wide variety of sonic variations with simple and reliable operation. Woods are hand selected from global sources to meet the stringent requirements for resonance, grain and weight with the necks built of hard-rock maple shaped and finished with carefully rounded neck edges for ultra-smooth playability. Genuine bone nuts are expertly shaped, slotted and finished by hand with special attention paid to the filing and polishing of the frets.

Artists, who endorsed or played the St. Blues line back in the 80's, are a veritable who's who of the rock and blues world. Such world-renowned artists as Billy Gibbons, Glen Fry and Joe Walsh of The Eagles, Bo Diddley, Bono, and Albert King, to name just a few, all played St. Blues guitars. In 1986 the pinnacle of St. Blues' accomplishments was the creation of the "Eric Clapton Signature Model" designed by Chris Lovell, a founder of Legendary Gear, and Eric Clapton.

Already the Memphis blues artists are playing St. Blues guitars. Artists now playing models include Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi AllStars, James Payne of Better Than Ezra, Shea Sowell and Phil Bogard of Ingram Hill, Zach Myers, the Farewell guitarist for Shinedown, and Tony Myers of The Reverend Al Green Band.

Legendary Gear, founded in 2005 by a group of Memphis entrepreneurs, was specifically created to re-launch the St. Blues line of electric guitars and, eventually, to market a full line of musical instruments under the following brands -- St. Blues electric guitars, Delta Blues acoustic guitars, Memphis Sound Lab audio gear and Drum Boogie drums.
