Sony Media Software today announced the launch of Tony Franklin: Not Just Another Pretty Bass, a 2-disc 24-bit loop library from one of the industry's most recognized bassists. This is one of the first titles in Sony Media Software's new groundbreaking Artist Integration? series that gives top recording artists such as Tony Franklin, who played with Jimmy Page in The Firm, the chance to construct new loop libraries, using existing libraries from Sony's popular Loops & Samples collection for reference.

"Tony Franklin, the legendary 'Fretless Monster', is an incredible addition to Sony Media Software's constantly expanding library of world-class loops and samples for music production," said Dave Chaimson, vice president of marketing, Sony Media Software. "The Tony Franklin: Not Just Another Pretty Bass collection is unique in several ways. First, we bring you the powerful and emotional performances that only Tony can provide on his Fender® Precision Bass®; secondly, we've tightly integrated Tony¹s playing with Siggi Baldursson¹s drum loops to introduce you to our Artist Integration concept, and lastly, we've provided an extensive linger notes and exclusive video presentation featuring bass performances by Tony Franklin as well as an exploration of the key artistic ideas behind the collection which is sure to be a an important part of your sample music library."

The premiere Artist Integration concept promises a synergistic outcome that will allow for faster production of tighter, better-sounding music. To create Not Just Another Pretty Bass, Tony Franklin played bass over drum loops selected from Siggi Baldursson¹s Drumsugar and Zero-Gravity Beats collections. Tony¹s favorite loops from these two titles were combined to form a new counterpart, The Best of Siggi Baldursson: The Drum Loops collection, which is also now available for purchase.

Tony Franklin: Not Just Another Pretty Bass will debut at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) tradeshow (January 19-22, Anaheim Convention Center) in Sony booth #6201. Tony Franklin will be on-site each day to perform, sign autographs and discuss the project. In addition, to celebrate this Premium Collection release, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation will give away a Fender® Tony Franklin Fretless Precision Bass® for a drawing that will happen at the NAMM Show on Sunday, January 22 in the Sony booth.

"Tony Franklin's name is synonymous with the electric fretless bass," said Ritchie Fliegler, senior vice president of market development, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. "We are proud to launch the Fender® Tony Franklin Fretless Precision Bass®, the same instrument that is featured throughout the Sony® Sound Series? library, Tony Franklin: Not Just Another Pretty Bass. The library is a comprehensive showcase of the depth and scope of this fine instrument, brought to life by Tony's remarkable musical abilities."

In addition, fans of the bassist can participate in an exclusive remix contest titled ³Thirty Second Power Trip² on the ACIDplanet.com website, the Internet's premier online community for digital musicians and producers. Entrants can create their own power trio with Tony Franklin bass loops, Siggi Baldursson drum loops and themselves on a lead instrument. Each submission must be no longer than 30 seconds. Along with other prizes from Sony, the winner will be considered for a future Sony Sound Series loop library.

The Tony Franklin: Not Just Another Petty Bass Premium Collection library is now available for US $99.95 MSRP. The Best of Siggi Baldursson: The Drum Loops is also available for US $59.95 MSRP. For more information or to locate a dealer worldwide, please visit www.sony.com/mediasoftware.
