South by Southwest Conferences Announce Kristofferson Participation

South by Southwest (SXSW) 2006 is proud to announce singer/songwriter, actor, and activist Kris Kristofferson as the first artist ever to hit the March Trifecta at SXSW Music, SXSW Film, and the Texas Film Hall of Fame.

SXSW Music will present Kristofferson in a featured interview and a featured
showcase.

SXSW Film will present a mini-retrospective of his films and as a conference speaker.

Texas Film Hall of Fame will induct Kristofferson at the annual gala benefitting the Austin Film Society.

Kris Kristofferson's iconic work in music and film have left an indelible imprint on American culture. He extended the reach of country songwriting in the 60s with now-classic compositions such as "For The Good Times," " Me And Bobby McGee," "Sunday Morning Coming Down," and "Help Me Make It Through The Night." Recognition as a performer and actor followed including memorable roles in such films as "The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With the Sea," "Lone Star," and "A Star is Born". Remaining active musically while his film career expanded, Kristofferson has returned to concert stages lately, including a memorable appearance at SXSW 2004.

SXSW Film Conference and Festival takes place March 10 - 18, 2006, SXSW Music Conference and Festival takes place March 15 - 19, 2006 and the Texas Film Hall of Fame takes place Friday, March 10, 2006.
