Caught in the Act: Vivian Campbell

On October 14, 2005, Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell received a custom Les Paul to use during the group's current world tour. Vivian's loved Les Pauls since he got his first one at the age of 14. He still has the serial number memorized, just ask him. He proclaimed he hasn't been this excited about a new guitar since then.

The Gibson Custom Shop made an amazing guitar for him with a special iced tea finish for Def Leppard's tour that was shipped to Gibson's DC office for hand delivery to Vivian on the road. Vivian played it in soundcheck on Friday and then used it for the concert that night in Virginia- it's his new favorite guitar.

Def Leppard are currently touring in support of their greatest hits collection Rock of Ages, a double disc set featuring the hits that made them one of the most successful bands in history, with 29 years of rock and roll under their belts. Vivian Campbell is also promoting his new blues album, Two Sides Of If and still playing all Gibson, all Les Pauls, in the show each night.
