John has, in two short years, released two Long Winters albums to worldwide critical praise, including four star reviews in Entertainment Weekly, Details, German Rolling Stone, Mojo, and Business 2.0 as well as dozens of other music publications. In 2004, the band did two major tours of Europe, as well as American tours with Death Cab for Cutie, They Might Be Giants, and The Decemberists. In addition, they played SXSW, CMJ, Sasquatch Festival, and the Sundance Film Festival. Their record When I Pretend To Fall was on numerous American and European top ten lists, and has been released in Australia and Japan within the last month. Also, the song "Blue Diamonds" was featured for two straight months on the program Subterranian on MTV2 and is now regularly broadcast on MTV Latino and MTV Europe. In addition, The Long Winters will be performing and doing signings at record stores along the tour route as well as appearances at AAA and college radio stations for acoustic on-air performances. The photo below shows John in the Seattle Gibson Guitar showroom with a Gibson ES-345.
