James Burton: Wraps Festival, Turns 66, and Gets Statue

A big weekend for guitarist James Burton: the first James Burton International Guitar Festival was a sold-out, resounding success; Burton turned 66; and, a bronze statue of him in his late 20s to early 30s was dedicated on Saturday, August 20, 2005, outside the Municipal Memorial Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Burton, who played with Elvis Presely, Rick Nelson, John Denver, and others, was one of the first two sidemen inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
