Healdsburg California - - The very best examples of modern American guitar making will be on display at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival 2005 from August 19th through the 21st, from 11 am to 6 pm daily, at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts just off of Hwy. 101 between Healdsburg and Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, California, north of San Francisco. Truly a rich musical and cultural event, the Healdsburg Festival features over 130 of the world's finest luthiers who will be on hand to show, sell and talk about their magnificent creations.

The presence of these guitar builders showing their finest work and sharing their techniques attracts the best performers, all also sharing their skill and talent by teaching a workshop for other guitarists. Also featured will be concerts, player workshops, luthier mini-concerts, builder seminars and vendors. Everyone from top professional musicians to hobbyists, collectors and fans can enjoy beautiful instruments that could typically only be found in the finest museum or music store that are on display to see, play, buy or commission. Festival luthiers explore, consider and adapt the most recent technologies in keeping with their craft's oldest traditions.

This year, there will be seminars in modern tooling, Neck Joints, Intonation, and Action, and the "double-top" soundboard, the newest attempt to increase the volume and beauty of a plucked string. These seminars are open to the public.

The Healdsburg Guitar Festival is produced by Luthiers Mercantile International, Inc. For more information, please call 800-477-4437 or 707-687-2020.
