Source: Steven Meyer

Steven Meyer, a solo fingerstyle guitarist performing regularly in the Madison, WI area, announces the release of his debut CD: Steven Meyer Plays Guitar, Choice Selections For Solo Guitar.

Steven's regular gig is Sunday evenings at Restaurant Magnus in Madison, WI, and personal requests from customers for a CD prompted this recording, which documents highlights from his performing repertoire over the last three years. Steven's music explores the rich historical and cultural heritage of solo guitar and he continues to develop a dynamic mastery of improvisational expression.

Steven is a Wisconsin-born guitarist and has worked to develop a unique creative voice in virtuoso solo guitar. Steven brings a multi-faceted capability to many genres of music, including Classical, BossaNova, and Jazz/Pop. His playing can be described as artful, passionate, and sophisticated. Steven has gained the poise and musical maturity that can only be gained from many years of study and performance. Steven's guitar work features tasty progressions, intricate harmonies, and flawless technique. Re-harmonized melody lines anchor his method of solo jazz improvisation. Experience Steven's music and explore the creative possibilities of solo guitar.

Material on this recording is from JazzPop, BossaNova, and Classical styles and is an easy-to- listen-to primer on the creative possibilities of solo fingerstyle guitar.
