Elvis May Have Left the House

But that only makes it a tourist attraction. Elvis Presley (no, that's not a stage name) was born on January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi, and the house in which he spent three years during his childhood in Tupelo is still standing. In fact, it's open to tourists seven days a week, though the hours vary. Also still standing (and still in business) is Tupelo Hardware, where Presley's mother bought him his first guitar (cheaper than a bike, safer than a gun). Read story.
