PRS Guitars Sponsors NASA Racing Event at Summit Point Raceway

Press release
Source: PRS Guitars

On July 16, 2005, PRS will be a sponsor of the 2005 Hyperfest at Summit Point Raceway, where auto enthusiasts can spectate or participate in track events. Located approximately 1 hr. from metro Baltimore/DC, Summit Point Raceway will be transformed into an "amusement park" of automotive and import/compact car lifestyle activities. Experience thrilling track action by signing up to take your car on track with an instructor for high speed driving events, experience high speed thrill rides with a professional driver or participate in training that opens the door to the art of "drifting". There will also be plenty of action to watch with NASA road racing, US Drift National Competition and a spectacular collection of show cars as well as various suppliers and vendors.

PRS Guitars has teamed up with 98 Rock, Baltimore's most loved rock station, to promote Hyperfest both prior to and during the event. One of 98 Rock's disc jockey's will be strapped into a car with a professional driver for a live broadcast as they race around the track. Guitar World's very own Greg DiBennedetto will be participating in on-track events and Motorweek TV will be onsite filming live footage for a PRS feature that will be aired later this year. Various aspects of the event, including concert performances will be filmed by Teckademics East and will be available on DVD for viewing enjoyment.

Great live music from the Paul Reed Smith Band and virtuoso guitar player, Johnny Hiland will be played throughout the day. Theory of a Deadman has agreed to take a break from their Canadian tour and join Hyperfest for an evening concert, performing hits from their latest release "Gasoline" as well as their self-titled debut album.

PRS Guitars will have an interactive guitar display at the event, along with an exclusive VIP Hospitality tent for all PRS guests. Raffle tickets for a PRS guitar will be sold throughout the day and proceeds will benefit cancer patients and their families at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. The lucky winner will be presented with the guitar during the evening concert.
