Eddie From Ohio to Write Theme Song for CBS Sports Special

Eddie From Ohio has been tapped to write the theme song, "Drive," for CBS Sports' PGA Tour 18: Golf's Ultimate Road Trip, which premieres on Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 PM ET. The three-episode run will finish airing May 21 and May 28.

Other songs from the band are heard throughout each of the episodes. The show--hosted by CBS golf analyst David Feherty--is a competition between eight amateur golfers to play 18 of the PGA TOUR's most difficult and most recognizable holes in 10 different states, over 13 days. The players were selected from open tryouts held across the country and paired into four two-person teams.

The teams will battle head-to-head, playing a different hole on a different course each day, and the one with the highest score after six holes will be eliminated. The teams will be cut until only two remain to compete over the final six holes, leading to a dramatic showdown at the final stop of the trip--the world-famous Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. The last team standing scores a VIP, all-expense paid trip to the 2006 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am next February.

Meanwhile, Eddie From Ohio continues their extensive U.S. tour, which kicked off last October and is set to conclude this November in support of their ninth album, This Is Me (out now on the band's Virginia Soul label). A recent Performing Songwriter review raved: "Eddie From Ohio's peppy rhythms and tight accompaniment manage to make even a song about a troubled relationship seem happy and carefree...Excellent production allows songs to go from whispery quiet to driving and powerful, but the vocals and lyrics are the focal point of this wonderfully song-driven album."
