Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, Eric Clapton and Others Perform Charity Concerts at Royal Albert Hall, April 4-8, 2005

The Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) concert series at London's Royal Albert Hall got underway last night. The purpose of the series is to raise money for TCT, a charity that focuses on the needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer, leukaemia, Hodgkin's and related diseases by providing specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals.

Monday night's concert was titled "Night of Gibson Guitars" and featured Robert Plant supported by The Bees. The charity's patron, Roger Daltrey (who was recently made a CBE for his services to entertainment and charity), was also in attendance and auctioned an autographed Gibson Les Paul guitar to help raise funds for TCT.

The concert series runs through Friday, April 8, 2005, and will feature the following headliners:

Tuesday, April 5: Franz Ferdinand
Wednesday April 6: A Night of Comedy with Peter Kay & Guests
Thursday, April 7: Keane
Friday, April 8: UB 40, Eric Clapton & Special Guests
