Paul Reed Smith Guitars Supports "Musicians on Call"

PRS Guitars donates PRS SE model guitar signed by Carlos Santana to fundraiser

On January 31, 2005, Sotheby's Auction House in New York City provided an opportunity for the public to own a guitar autographed by a music legend when, in conjunction with Musicians on Call, it held the "Musicians on Call Benefit Guitar Auction". The event was a huge success with musicians, VJs, collectors, and even non-players desiring a piece of musical history attending. The auction also drew celebrities to review the guitars that were up for auction, such as Conan O'Brien and John Mayer, who also gave a live performance for the attendees. So many artists donated guitars and memorabilia to raise money that most of them were auctioned online. All proceeds directly benefited Musicians on Call.

Musicians on Call is a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in hospitals and other healthcare centers, facilitating healing through the power of music. Some of the many artists that have already helped Musicians on Call with their mission include Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Slash, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Carlos Santana. For this most recent auction, Carlos Santana autographed one of his Santana SE PRS model guitars. PRS Guitars is known for its philanthropy, and working with Musicians on Call and Carlos Santana provided the company a chance to not only help the patients but also gave the lucky winner the ability to own a guitar signed by a genuine guitar legend.
