Nashville's GuitarTown Unveils First Set of Guitar Sculptures

On Friday, April 1, 2005, Nashville's GuitarTown unveiled a public arts project featuring 10-foot-tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul and Chet Atkins guitar sculptures. The ceremony was attended by Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, Nasville Mayor Bill Purcell, and some of Country Music's most notable personalities.

The first set of sculptures will be exhibited at the Gaylord Entertainment Center's outdoor plaza. All oversized guitar sculptures are artistically designed by local and nationally acclaimed visual artists and will be placed throughout the city of Nashville in front of famous landmarks and businesses. The sculptures will later be auctioned with all proceeds benefiting charities.
