New York City Classical Guitar Society Announces Spring Concert Series

The New York City Classical Guitar Society ("NYCCGS") is proud to announce its Spring Concert Series. The series will include 4 outstanding events, featuring the varied and beautiful music of the classical guitar. The Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the classical guitar. The organization provides a forum for the listening and performing of classical guitar music through each member's right and responsibility to both teach and learn.

NYCCGS was started to fill a gap between the abundance of quality classical guitar resources on the Internet and the conspicuous lack of a social forum for classical guitar in New York City and its surrounding area. The Society seeks to complete the social interaction of classical guitar enthusiasts by providing an "in-person" group learning experience.

Schedule of events:

Friday March 25th 8:00 p.m.
A Tribute to Aaron Shearer
Featuring performances by Julian Gray, David Tanenbaum and David Starobin followed by the presentation of the NYCCGS Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. Shearer.

Roland Dyens
This French guitar virtuoso is renowned for his eclectic blending of jazz, contemporary and classical music, brought to light through his highly personal classical guitar style.

Sunday April 24th 3:00 p.m.

American Youth Hostel
891 Amsterdam Ave (@ 103rd St.)
