A Guitar for Johnny Depp

Actually, it's a screenplay that Haylar Garcia is trying desperately to place in the hands of Hollywood actor Johnny Depp. Garcia is using a custom, hand-built guitar as bait. Garcia's screenplay, "Narcophonic: The Ballad of Bad Bax", is based on the real-life story of guitar-maker Scott Baxendale who, due to drugs, went from being a luthier and curator of the Dallas Hard Rock Cafe to a life of crime and ultimately redemption. Garcia's attempts to get the script to Depp, who both Garcia and Baxendale see as the perfect actor for the lead role, have been without success to-date. Garcia is filiming a documentary of his efforts, which have included camping out in front of the recent Academy Awards show. Read story.
