January 24, 2005TASCAM: What's New in 2005Source: TASCAM New offerings and updates from TASCAM DM-3200 Digital CONSOLE Based on the DM-24 in operational ease-of-use, the DM-3200 adds more busses, more effects, more auxes, USB connectivity and many other new features. Its user interface includes 16 rotary encoders with LED indicators to display mixer settings at a glance. Up to 6.1 surround panning is available, and the optional IF-SM/DM Surround Monitoring interface card adds multichannel monitor and downmix capabilities. When you add the IF-FW/DM 24-channel FireWire interface card, the DM-3200 becomes the most powerful all-in-one computer interface, control surface and mixing console available anywhere, making it ideal for professional recording, post-production, film scoring and installation applications. Meter Bridge optional. Portable CD-GT1mkII, CD-BT1mkII and CD-VT1mkII INSTRUMENT TRAINERS Like the wildly-popular CD-GT1 and the follow-up CD-BT1 and CD-VT1, the Mark II trainers have the ability to slow down the speed of a CD without changing the pitch -- allowing musicians to learn fast licks, rhythm parts and solos from their favorite artists. The Mark II CD Trainers also add new effects for even better reverb and amp simulation. A new metronome helps musicians practice even when a CD isn't playing. The new Guitar Canceller effect on the CD-GT1mkII allows players to mute the guitar part so that they can play along. NOMAD FACTORY Essential Studio Suite Bundle Distributed by TASCAM Comprised of 9 essential plug-ins, this bundle will help you to create professional projects from tracking to mixing to mastering- whether you're a novice recordist or a pro producer- at an amazing price! The Essential Studio Suite bundle has it all: Multiband Compressor, Essential Channel, Essential Graphic EQ, Essential Compressor, Essential Gate Expander, Multiband Loudness Maximizer, Loudness Maximizer, Tube/Tape Warmer, and Retro-Vox. Designed by musicians for musicians, this bundle features high-quality processing using a double precision floating point, up to 192kHz sample rates supported, the ability to automate any control thru compatible RTAS, HTDM, VST and Audio Units host applications, plus a set of factory presets. VL-X5 STUDIO MONITORS These powered speakers feature 5-1/4" woofers, silk-dome tweeters and a 60+30-watt bi-amplified active power amp. The monitors feature low- and high-frequency controls and an Acoustic Space Control to optimize their performance for room placement or listener preference. The monitors are shielded to prevent magnetic damage to CRTs. The deep cabinet and ported design produce a surprising amount of bass for the size of the monitors. DP-01 & DP-01FX DIGITAL PORTASTUDIOS Twenty-five years after the introduction of the first Portastudioâ„¢, the new DP-01 and DP-01FX 8-track Digital Portastudios make hard disk recording affordable and simple enough for all musicians. Continuing TASCAM's "Capture Your Art" campaign of making recording approachable to all musicians, the DP-01 and DP-01 FX feature the one-knob-per-function design that has made TASCAM cassette Portastudios the choice of thousands of musicians. Both workstations shatter the confusing page-shift-menu interface popular with most other digital recorders, and are incredibly affordable - both 'street' for under $500. DV-RA1000 HIGH-RESOLUTION AUDIO/DSD MASTER RECORDER The new TASCAM DV-RA1000 recorder is a professional solution for recording high-resolution audio -- up to 192kHz/24-bit -- to inexpensive DVD media. The new recorder even features Sony's DSD format, the basis for audiophile Super Audio CDs, as an available recording format. Its professional I/O includes balanced XLR connections, AES/EBU and SDIF-3, and it records standard CD-DA, WAVE and DSDIFF files to CD and DVD discs. The DV-RA1000 can also operate as a professional CD recorder, recording standard audio CDs for studio or meeting room installations. MD-CD1 COMBINES CD PLAYBACK AND MINIDISC RECORDING The MD-CD1 combines CD playback and MiniDisc recording in a single rackmount unit designed to save rack space and installation budgets. Like all of TASCAM's products designed for fixed installation, the MD-CD1 is a reliable player designed for years of trouble-free use. The unit is stocked with features, such as 12% pitch control, MP3 CD playback, RS-232 control and an optional balanced I/O board that allow it to be spec'd into a wide variety of applications. FW-1082 FIREWIRE AUDIO/MIDI INTERFACE AND CONTROL SURFACE The new FW-1082 Audio/MIDI Interface and Control Surface not only provides tons of audio and MIDI I/O to small studios, but offers a control surface with moving-faders for a previously unheard-of price. It goes on for the next 90 minutes to cover every aspect of recording, editing and mixing on the 2488 24-track Digital Portastudio. For more information, visit the TASCAM website: www.tascam.com.
