Washburn Guitars Premiers Anthrax's Scott Ian Signature Series Guitar at Winter NAMM

The new Ian signature series was completed in October of '04 and is now available. "We're receiving a tremendous response from consumers and artists to the guitar." said Rudy Schlacher, CEO for Washburn Guitars. Mr. Schlacher continues "It's a perfect guitar for those that are looking for the standard hard rock/heavy metal tone that Scott helped pioneer.

"This guitar is exactly what I've been looking for. It's evil and it play's fucking awesome." said Scott Ian.

The guitar is available in two versions. The Ian Pro is built in Washburn's USA custom shop and features a string-thru mahogany body with a deep set mahogany V-neck, ebony fingerboard, exclusive "Anthragram" inlays, Seymour Duncan El Diablo bridge pickup, Tone Pros bridge, Sperzel tuners, 22 jumbo frets, 25 ½" neck scale with the Buzz Feiten tuning system. This guitar retails for $2,699.90.

The Ian standard built in Washburn's USA production facility features a poplar string-thru body, maple V-neck, rosewood fingerboard, pearl dot inlays, Seymour Duncan Distortion pickups, Tone-Pros bridge, Grover 18:1 tuners, 22 jumbo frets, 25 ½" neck scale with the Buzz Feiten tuning system. This guitar retails for $1,499.90.

There is also a limited custom shop USA urban camo version available through select Washburn dealers.

"We began our relationship with Scott through Randall amplifiers (Randall is a subsidiary of U.S. Music Corp that also owns Washburn guitars). He is a heavy metal icon and one of the hardest working musicians that I've ever met. He expects excellence with everything he does and we're proud to have Scott Ian endorses our guitars." said David Karon, Director of Artist Relations for Washburn Guitars."
