A focus on guitar culture and lifestyle Return to Front Page

Michael G. StewartPhotographer Michael G. Stewart has been creating award winning images of musicians and performing artists for more than 30 years. His photographs and illustrations have graced the covers of more than 125 albums and CDs, spanning genres from blues to bluegrass, rock to jazz, reggae to classical, with artists as diverse as jazz guitarist Jimmy Bruno, Irish fiddler Winifred Horan from Solas, or reggae legend Eek A Mouse.

A long time guitarist himself (founder & lead guitarist of psychedelic anarchists Electric Tibet & The Suburban Bushmen), Michael worked with the late guitar uber-collector Scott Chinery on imaging the famous Blue Guitars Collection as well as commercial photos for the Hallmark Guitar Co., the MicroFrets Guitar Co. and custom luthiers such as Bill Comins, Gary Flowers and the legendary Bob Benedetto.

Michael lives in Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. with his wife, Washington Philharmonic violinist Catherine Stewart, and their son, Spencer.
