Lynne Margolis is a veteran newspaper, magazine and Internet writer/editor and artist biographer whose work has regularly appeared worldwide via the internationally syndicated Christian Science Monitor and websites such as Modern Guitars and RollingStone.com. Her many outlets include Paste, Texas Music, Austin Monthly and American Style magazines, the Austin American-Statesman, the Recording Academy’s Grammy magazine and the Austin City Limits Festival Guide. She was a major contributor to the encyclopedia, The Ties that Bind: Bruce Springsteen from A to E to Z, (Visible Ink Press) as well as six MusicHound Essential Album Guides. She has taught college communications classes and traveled around the country (and beyond) in pursuit of music-related stories. After spending most of her life shivering and shoveling in Pittsburgh, she moved to the much warmer, sunnier city of Austin at the end of 2003.
She believes that all modern music history can be separated into two categories: before the Beatles and after the Beatles. As for her favorite guitarist, that's almost a rhetorical question, impossible to answer, but Will Kimbrough and Kenny Vaughan are on the list. And she does like looking up the definition of rock 'n' roll now and then, just to see that picture of Keith Richards.
